King Nursing Home WON! 🎉

Our residents, Dona and Mario, proudly represented King Nursing Home by showcasing Residents’ Bill of Rights #7 and #8 within our home.

We submitted a beautiful collage featuring Dona and Mario, along with their heartwarming love story — and it was selected as a winner! Dona and Mario’s story began right here at King Nursing Home. They first met when they both ran for Resident Council Vice President on different floors, though they had never spoken to each other before. When Dona won the election, Mario didn’t say much to her at first.

One day, Michelle from the Activation team taught Dona how to play dominoes something Mario also enjoyed. Michelle introduced them at a game, and from that moment, they began to connect. Their friendship quickly grew, and a few months later, they requested to move into the same room. The staff supported their request, and since then, they have been inseparable.

Together, they enjoy watching TV, eating meals, and spending quiet moments by the window. They also love shopping trips and being active members of the Resident Council where Dona is now the President, with Mario proudly by her side.

Though Mario is a man of few words, he always makes his point clear, and Dona understands him perfectly. In turn, he understands her just as deeply. Their bond is a true example of companionship and love.
